This is how and why we started Sambboho!

Hey there! It’s Caroline and Antonin. We are the owners of Sambboho and we would like to take a minute to introduce ourselves and our business. The story of Sambboho started in 2016 when Caroline and I met in college. Caroline is from Brazil and I'm from France. We both moved to San Diego to pursue our degree at San Diego State University where we met and bonded deeply over our love for dogs and fashion.  On Louie's birthday (my dog), Caroline gave me a gorgeous unique beaded collar that had been custom made by the talented artisan women from Araxa Brazil (Caroline's mother hometown). I felt in love with these unique collars and everywhere we would go, people would ask about them. Our passion for dogs, high-quality products, and fashion made us decide that we should make more and start selling them on Etsy. We partnered with Araxa's talented artisan women to create beaded patterns and Caroline's family leather manufacture to attach them to the various leather products that our artisans make. Voila! Sambboho and our website were born. Sambboho is a label that fuses Brazilian artisan's ancient beaded techniques with nature's best raw elements to bring authenticity to our pieces. We have a special focus on working with artisan women and our goal is to connect skilled artisan worldwide through fashion. By hiring Araxa's local employees and purchasing hundreds of bead-works from our artisan ladies, our small business has helped low-income women to become comfortable financially. Not only do you buy an amazing, durable and unique product, but you also contribute to the financial empowerment of skilled artisan women so they can safely work from the comfort of their homes while still providing for their family. Our main mission is to make high-quality products of outstanding artistry while appealing to ethically conscious customers who cares about human's and animal's rights. This is also why we decided to give 10% of the remaining profits to a no kill dog shelter in San Diego. The Circle is complete!
